George MINNE
Born in Ghent in 1866, George Minne was one of the leading exponents of Symbolism in sculpture. A close friend of Rodin at the end of his life, he shared his taste for works in marble, which he sublimated towards a spiritual impulse, in representations of maternity or religious subjects. The gestures and physiognomies, features of his style were sublimated during the creative apogee of his career, in the 1890s.
