Born on 4 May 1900 and died on 1 August 1977, Georges Violet was a sculptor of the contemporary French school.  He married the Polish-born illustrator and writer Elzbieta. 

He was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur at the age of 34, enabling him to acquire a certain renown, particularly in the various salons at which he later exhibited, such as the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1944.
